Echoes of the Unseen
Short description of the artwork
The colourful rhinoceros carried seats for passengers no one could see. The town mocked him for stopping at empty corners and saving food for absent mouths. Even his companions asked him to discard the extra cart. That evening rain darkened the road, revealing footprints beside every wheel—small, large, hurried, hesitant.
The unseen travellers were not ghosts demanding the past; they were the traces of everyone the journey had shaped and lost. The rhinoceros spoke their names. Some footprints faded. Others moved closer.
His companions added one empty seat of their own. From then on, the caravan made room for absence without letting it drive. What could not be seen no longer had to be denied in order for the living to continue.
