Golden Giraffe

They said she was the richest girl in the world.
She possessed a mountain of gold—
so much that even if the sun grew tired,
it could borrow light from her treasure.

Yet all her wealth was bound to one being:
a giraffe,
the friend who had grown beside her since childhood.

On the day her father gave her the giraffe, he said:
“As long as it remains beside you, your heart will never grow dark.”

Years passed.
The girl grew and acquired everything the world could offer.
Then, one day, the giraffe gave birth
and departed this world.

The newborn was golden and radiant,
with a horn upon its forehead like a secret.

At that moment, the direction of the girl’s life changed.
Not because of the birth alone,
but because she understood
that wealth loses its light when it is not shared.

The young giraffe’s skin shimmered with mosaics of light,
as though fragments of the sun
had settled upon its body.

The girl realized that all her gold
was worthless beside this new life.

She gave away every treasure—
gold, jewels, titles, power—
and kept only one thing:
the golden giraffe.

That day, she chose to leave.

but to arrive.

and a mother gentler than music.

The girl was light and free,
standing at the threshold of a new road.

A violinist walked with them and played.
Birds opened the sky,
and balloons marked the way.

The earth receded behind them
while their hearts moved toward a place
that did not yet exist.

the girl became truly rich—
not because she possessed so much,
but because she followed her heart.

built a new world:
