Short description of the artwork
In the city of straight roads, every feeling needed permission. Laughter was allowed on Fridays, grief for ten minutes, and dancing only behind closed doors. Dionysus arrived on a golden horse whose wheels refused to travel in a line. The officials ordered him to stop.
He tried, but the horse spun once and the sea itself began to dance. Windows opened. People stepped outside carrying emotions they had hidden for years.
Dionysus feared the whirl would swallow them, so he placed one hand on the reins and the other on his heart. The city did not collapse. By morning its roads were still there, only curved enough for people to breathe.
